Joe locked me in the barn and I had to jump out a window to get out.

Well, first I tried banging on the door and slamming it against the rope latching it. Then I tried calling Joe’s phone three times. I tried hollering out the crack. He had been out there puttering, I had clearly seen him. How had he not seen me?
Then I considered options. I could climb over the manger and go out through the cow manure side.

So then I went into the shop side to see if I could slide the big slider open. I knew the truck was parked close to it to prevent intruders from getting into the barn, but thought maybe….. no such luck. Jammed tight.

So no go on the two big doors. I moved a chair over and climbed up into window frame, got both legs out the other side, and jumped down.

Maybe it doesn’t look like much, but it felt like a pretty significant feat. I have not jumped out a window since about 1973. About 47 years.
